Press freedom in Israel – Cell phone stalking in Lebanon

Quote from a (German) fellow Beirut-based journalist currently in Jerusalem: What is the difference between Iran, Syria and Israel? In Israel, the Minders speak german and camp out in the Lobby of your Hotel.’

Facebook status from an (American) fellow Beirut-based journalist currently in Beirut: ‘X just received an automated phone call from the “State of Israel” warning him not to launch rockets from Lebanese territory, or else.’

Meanwhile, as the Palestinian death toll crosses the 1,000 mark, the IDF continues to build up its armed presence along the Lebanese border, barely noticed by the world press, firing flares into the country and violating Lebanese airspace with overflights on an almost uninterrupted basis. The LAF has in response sent special forces and other reinforcements to the south.
